Suggested Application Timeline
Students who plan to apply for the Master’s Thesis Proposal Review are advised to carefully manage the timeline for each stage of the process. The schedule below is provided for reference only in planning the application procedure and does not include the time required for thesis writing.
Important Reminders
- Please check your email regularly.
- If you have not received the oral examination documents from the Institute Office three days before the oral examination, please contact the Institute Office proactively.
- For applications processed in the first semester, it is recommended that the oral examination and submission of all required documents be completed by January 31.
- For applications processed in the second semester, it is recommended that the oral examination and submission of all required documents be completed by July 31.
I. Once the Oral Examination Date Is Confirmed, Count Backward Three Weeks
Please complete the following items three weeks before the confirmed oral examination date.
Example:
If the oral examination is scheduled for December 27, all required documents should be submitted to the Institute Office by December 6.
(1) Confirm the Availability of Committee Members
Please first confirm the availability of all oral examination committee members.
(2) Decide on the Oral Examination Date, Time, and Venue
Please confirm the venue, equipment, and any related facilities required for the oral examination.
(3) Complete and Submit the Application Documents
Please prepare the following documents:
- Application Form for Master’s Thesis Review (online application)
- Qualification Confirmation Form for Oral Examination Committee Members (required if a committee member is not a faculty member)
- Similarity report generated by the thesis comparison system (please upload it directly to the system backend)
Please complete all required information, including the thesis title, oral examination date and time, and committee member information, and submit the documents to the Institute Office after obtaining the academic advisor’s signature.
II. One Week Before the Oral Examination
(1) Apply for Off-Campus Vehicle Entry
If any oral examination committee member will drive to campus, the application for off-campus vehicle entry must be completed one week before the oral examination. Campus Vehicle Entry Application Procedure
(2) Pay Attention to the Oral Examination Documents Sent by the Institute Office
The Institute Office will send the oral examination documents by email. Please pay close attention to the email notification. If you still have not received the documents three days before the oral examination, please contact the Institute Office proactively.
III. On the Day of the Oral Examination
(1) Master’s Thesis Proposal Review Comment Form
Students must print out the Thesis Proposal Review Comment Form according to the number of committee members. Please fill in the header information in advance and provide the forms to the committee members for their comments on the day of the oral examination.
(2) Fee Acknowledgment Documents for External Committee Members
Please provide the relevant fee acknowledgment documents to the external committee members for signature and return them to the Institute Office afterward.
Note: Internal faculty members of the University are not eligible to receive the review fee.
If reimbursement or payment processing is required, please note the following:
- If the student will advance the payment, please complete the Payee Basic Information Platform in advance.
- If the University will pay the committee member directly, please complete the Postal/Bank Account Upload System in advance to facilitate the subsequent payment procedure.
IV. After the Oral Examination
Please follow the notice from the Institute Office and return the required documents to the Institute Office within one week after the oral examination.
