Purpose

In response to the growing demand for expertise in the sport industry, health promotion, and leisure management, the Institute offers the Credit Program for Master’s-Level Courses in Sport, Health and Leisure Management. The program aims to cultivate professionals equipped with competencies in sport management, leisure marketing and management, physical education, sport, and educational practice.

The curriculum is designed to balance academic theory and practical application, strengthening the professional competencies required for managerial and consulting positions as well as academic research. It also provides diverse and flexible continuing education opportunities for working professionals. Through systematic instruction in the academic knowledge of sport and leisure education, the program seeks to develop professionals with both a solid theoretical foundation and practical problem-solving abilities in sport and leisure management.

The program also places great emphasis on interdisciplinary exchange and the sharing of practical experience. Through discussion and interaction among participants from different backgrounds, learners are encouraged to address real-world issues while supporting the government’s vision of lifelong learning and diversified higher education.


Important Schedule

Announcement of Admission Results Tentatively scheduled for early February 2026, to be announced on the Institute website (Homepage / Credit Program / Latest News).
Admission Method Admission will be based on document review only, with applicants selected on a competitive basis.
Eligibility Applicants must be graduates of domestic or overseas universities, or meet the qualification requirements equivalent to those for admission to graduate school.

Application Procedure Please first complete and submit the Institute Application Form for Review. Then proceed to complete the NCKU Continuing Education Center Online Application System.

Required Documents for Review

Please prepare the following documents in accordance with the instructions below and upload them to the application system. Documents must be in A4 size, in PDF or JPG format only, and must be clearly scanned and properly oriented.

  1. Personal Information
    Including a curriculum vitae, autobiography, and outstanding personal achievements (such as awards, certificates, examination certificates, important work experience, or proof of in-service training).
  2. Proof of Current Employment
    Such as an appointment letter or other supporting documents sufficient to verify current employment status.
  3. Statement of Motivation and Study Plan
    Please prepare a typed statement of at least 500 words, explaining your motivation for applying and your future course plan.
  4. Proof of Academic Qualification
    Please upload a copy of your diploma. The uploaded diploma must be consistent with the qualification category selected in the application system and must be clearly legible after scanning.

Notes:

  • If any submitted materials are found to be inconsistent with the actual facts, the application will be disqualified.
  • The application form must be completed within the system and does not need to be printed separately.
  • Applications with incomplete documents or documents not uploaded in the required format will be regarded as invalid.
  • Admitted students may not defer enrollment except in cases of serious illness (supported by certification from a public hospital).

Review Committee

The review committee shall be composed of faculty members of the Institute.

Subject to the University academic calendar and the regulations of the course instructors.


Important Notes

  • If any false information is found in the application materials, or if the submitted documents are inconsistent with the facts, admission eligibility will be revoked.
  • Applications with unclear forms or incomplete supporting documents will not be accepted.
  • Admitted students may not defer enrollment except in cases of serious illness, which must be supported by a certificate issued by a public hospital.
  • Upon admission and registration, the Institute may require admitted students to present the original copies of relevant documents for verification. If any discrepancy is found, admission eligibility will be cancelled and the vacancy may be filled by an alternate applicant.

Admission Criteria

Class Period

From late February 2026 to mid-June 2026
Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays, 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–16:00, depending on the course schedule arranged by the Institute.

Courses and Faculty

  1. If there are any changes to course schedules or venues, please refer to the announcements on the website. If a course does not meet the minimum number of enrolled students, the Institute reserves the right to cancel the course offering.
  2. The mode of instruction for this program will be adjusted on a rolling basis in accordance with regulations issued by the Central Epidemic Command Center and the Ministry of Education, depending on pandemic developments and related requirements.
  3. Courses in this program are conducted jointly with the Institute’s In-Service Master’s Program.
    In-Service Master’s Program: Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays (9:00 AM–5:00 PM). According to each instructor’s course planning, classes are arranged on alternating weeks or biweekly schedules, with each session lasting 4 to 6 hours.

Important Academic Regulations

  1. Registration procedures must be completed within the prescribed period. Students who fail to register by the deadline will be treated as follows: returning students will be regarded as having voluntarily withdrawn, and newly admitted students will be regarded as having forfeited admission.
  2. Students wishing to add or change courses must complete the procedure within two weeks after the start of the semester. Such changes are limited to once per semester. Late applications will not be accepted.
  3. Each course in the program carries 2 to 3 credits. Students may select any offered elective course according to their interests and specialization, but enrollment is limited to a maximum of 5 students per course.
  4. In principle, students may take up to 6 credits (2 courses) per semester. The total number of credits that may be accumulated is up to 18 credits.
  5. Leave of absence is not permitted during the period of study. Students must enroll in at least one course; otherwise, they will be regarded as having withdrawn voluntarily.
  6. Absence is counted as missed class. For each course, the number of class absences may not exceed three times per semester (inclusive). If the number of absences exceeds three, the final grade for that course will be zero.
  7. Each course requires either examinations or written reports. Final grades are determined by the course instructor, and the passing standard is 70 points.
  8. If students are unable to attend class, they may not ask another person to attend on their behalf, nor may they bring outside persons to audit the course without authorization. Violations will be handled in accordance with the NCKU Student Reward and Disciplinary Regulations.
  9. In addition to regular courses, the program will organize several workshops or training activities each academic year. These activities are regarded as part of the formal curriculum, and all enrolled students are required to participate.
  10. If an admitted applicant is found to have submitted documents or information inconsistent with the facts, registration will not be permitted. If such discrepancies are discovered after enrollment, the student may be dismissed in accordance with the University Academic Regulations. Upon registration, the Institute may require students to provide original documents for verification.
  11. Each course requires either examinations or written reports, and semester grades will be determined by the course instructor. The passing standard is the same as that of students in the In-Service Master’s Program in Sport, Health and Leisure Management (SHLM) of the College of Management.
